Montclair Ambulance Unit (MAU) is pleased to announce the winners of our inaugural EMS Week Poster Contest. The contest was open to all students in Grades 1-8 who attend any school in Montclair, public or private, and was held as part of our EMS Week celebration. Contest entries were accepted from April 20 through May 20 with winners being chosen on May 22.
For this inaugural event, MAU asked students to get creative using crayons, colored pencils, markers, computer illustrator programs, etc. to create a work of art showing what Montclair Ambulance Unit means to them. Winners were based on overall impact of the display for appeal and attractiveness, clarity of the message, appropriateness of the graphics for the topic and, of course, creativity and chosen by MAU Management and Staff
After viewing the various submissions MAU is pleased to announce the winners:
First Place: Audrey Rougebec from Bradford School
First Runner Up: Scarlett Givner from Northeast School
Honorable Mention: Julia Seebach from Bradford School
All the submissions centered around MAU and the EMS Week them, “EMS Strong” and one of the favorites was the Honorable Mention that went to Julia Seebach from Bradford School. The entry transformed the acronym “EMT” from Emergency Medical Technician to Emergency Medical Turtles. Little did Julia know that the MAU staff is very fond of turtles and there is a collection of turtle figures in MAU’s Map Room that staff have collected through the years!
Thank you to all the students who submitted entries and a very special “thank you” to Vanna Bautista the art teacher from Bradford, for her efforts.
